Napareuli
The Napareuli vineyards on the left bank of the Alazani River in Kakheti are regarded as one of Georgia’s top appellations of origin. Saperavi here produces deep coloured but smooth and polished wines. On the nose, aromas of raspberry, cherry and bramble jam are enhanced with a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, there’s plenty of young fresh woodland berry fruit, overlaid with oak and coffee tones, and a good backbone of textured tannins. A wine with real local personality; which would be excellent with Sunday roast beef or lamb, moussaka and even with spicy curries.
