Mukuzani

Mukuzani is made from pure Saperavi and is widely regarded as Georgia’s top appellation. It’s a small sub-region of Kakheti lying between the Alazani River and the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains, with a mild climate, ideal for ripening this inky red variety. The grapes can only be harvested within the region and the wine has been aged in oak casks to mellow the tannins and add complexity. The wine itself is a deep plummy red with inviting aromas of bramble jam, overlaid with spice and a touch of liquorice. It’s full-bodied with balanced tannins and would be great with roast beef or lamb, grilled steak and even with spicy Indian dishes.
